Senior Financial Pricing SpecialistJob Description

The Senior Financial Pricing Specialist plays a crucial role in evaluating the value produced by Prime's initiatives and utilizes this understanding to aid in the formulation of innovative or improved financial pricing approaches. This role will also oversee intricate financial pricing evaluations and offer consultation and analytical insights to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propose new and modified financial pricing initiatives based on the analysis of pharmacy claims data, average wholesale drug prices (AWP), and other pertinent data of varying complexity within the pharmacy economic supply chain; employ analytics to examine data, recognize trends, and derive insights regarding profitability, margins, and costs from multifaceted and high-dimensional financial pricing data.
  • Construct financial pricing models to track performance against pharmacy claims data and pinpoint financial pricing opportunities to generate savings and/or fulfill client/pharmacy contractual obligations utilizing analytical tools and sophisticated financial pricing methodologies.
  • Utilize mathematical, statistical, and economic methods to identify key factors influencing costs and profitability in the pharmacy economic supply chain as they relate to financial pricing programs, and suggest and implement modifications to enhance the precision of financial pricing modeling.
  • Serve as a financial pricing subject matter expert by educating internal/external stakeholders on financial pricing programs and the interpretation of financial pricing data and reporting.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement pharmacy financial pricing objectives for use by Provider Relations teams and/or pharmacy/client guarantee management processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, accounting, finance, economics, business, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in pricing or financial analysis, including at least 3 years in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), claims processing, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with SQL, SAS, Alteryx, R, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

  • Capacity to build rapport and effectively influence individuals at all levels within an organization.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Aptitude for presenting complex data to diverse audiences at all organizational levels.

Minimum Physical Job Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, or shifts outside of Prime's core business hours.
  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk, and hear.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Reporting Structure
  • Reports to Manager, Director, or Senior Director in the Network Management or Pricing Planning & Analysis department.
Potential compensation for this position ranges from $85,000 to $128,400.00 based on experience and skills. Compensation may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
