Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineering Lab Technician to support our Test Engineering functional group at FactoryFix. As a Test Engineering Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties including hands-on tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarize yourself with a laboratory environment and test equipment.
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct operational testing.
  • Perform cabinet integration testing and troubleshooting.
  • Write test reports to assess the ability of products to perform per specifications.
  • Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment needed, nature of technical problem and possible solutions.
  • Set up and conduct tests of assembled units and components.
  • Record results with numerical and graphical data.
  • Analyze test results related to the design and test objectives.
  • Provide hands-on feedback to engineers.
  • Support qualification testing including test execution coordination in-house and at external labs.
  • Operate Engineering Lab environmental chamber.
  • Fabricate engineering and manufacturing test fixtures from drawings and schematics.
  • Perform test fixture repairs, modifications and certifications.
  • Perform lab 6S activities (cleanup, safety, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience and an Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interpret schematics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • Prior experience soldering.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware to the component level.
  • PC skills and experience using MS Word, Excel, and VISIO.
  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
