Supporting Military Families as a Child and Youth Behavioral Counselor

Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals to join our team as Child and Youth Behavioral Counselors (CYB-MFLCs) to support Joint Base Lewis McChord near Lakewood, WA.

About the Role

As a CYB-MFLC, you will provide non-medical support to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth, including counseling, consultation, and outreach. Your work will focus on addressing and providing solution-focused approaches to issues before they become greater challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children 0-5 at Child Development Centers (CDCs) and provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff and parents.
  • Observe, participate, and engage in activities with children and youth, and model behavior management techniques for staff and parents.
  • Offer presentations to address social skills development and social emotional learning.
  • Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events.
  • Help children with transition adjustments, such as a new school and a new home.
  • Participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.
  • Communicate information regarding trends and issues at assigned installation to Team Leads.

Requirements
  • A master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in any US State.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active passport that is good for 6 months after the end of the assignment.
  • Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.
