Job Overview

Compensation: $60-$70k, with additional commissions leading to total earnings exceeding $100k.


Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate comprehensive expertise in industrial and commercial steam and hot water boiler systems, along with related equipment.
  • Skilled in flame safeguard systems and proficient in utilizing VOMs and various diagnostic tools.
  • Provide quotations for control systems, replacements, and modifications pertaining to client boiler room apparatus.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers while staying informed about industry trends.
  • Monitor ongoing projects and follow up on additional parts or service requests indicated in service tickets and estimates.
  • Issue purchase orders to technicians for quoted projects.
  • Deliver high-quality service for all assigned tasks while adhering to core company principles.
  • Achieve departmental objectives for profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare quotes for burner, control, and boiler enhancements, and negotiate service and equipment agreements.
  • Build rapport with clients and participate in service meetings and continuous training.
  • Oversee the execution of service projects from initial plans or quote requests to project completion, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Market service contracts and water treatment agreements, reviewing open work orders on a weekly basis.

Required Skills

  • Thorough operational knowledge of boiler systems.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and a solid understanding of the boiler industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with boilers and burners.
  • Experience in boiler upgrades, including electrical, combustion, and refractory work.
  • Expertise in burner control systems, including familiarity with Fireye, Siemens, and Autoflame technologies.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and suppliers.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, work autonomously, and guide others.
  • Robust project management and sales capabilities.
  • Diverse troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of administrative workflows.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High level of verbal and written communication proficiency.

  • Travel to client locations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and rectify systems and products at client sites.

  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Stay updated on the installation, operation, service, and repair of represented products.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is mandatory prior to employment.

Communication & Organizational Skills

  • Document work by completing daily reports.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.
  • Determine necessary parts for repairs and their urgency.
  • Communicate parts and new equipment sales opportunities to relevant departments.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to clients and team members.

Physical Requirements

  • Full mobility, including the ability to use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Capability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
