Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Operations Manager to join our team at Chumash Enterprises. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all HVAC systems, including refrigeration, heating, building automation, energy management, and water treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and manage a team of skilled HVAC service technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • System Maintenance and Repair: Perform a full range of preventative maintenance and general operations tasks on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and compressed air systems.
  • Energy Management: Manage HVAC energy use with building automation programs, ensuring optimal energy efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Project Management: Install, repair, and replace pumps, valves, fans, and related equipment, requisitioning materials and supplies as needed to maintain HVAC systems.
  • Estimating and Scheduling: Prepare estimates of work hours, materials, and resources required for projects, scheduling and assigning work to facilities technicians.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure quality meets standards, reviewing technician work and providing feedback for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Provide safety and equipment training, ensuring power tools are in safe operable condition, and coordinating work of outside contractors.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs, purchases, inventory, and other relevant data, preparing reports as needed.
  • Team Building and Communication: Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and team member satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate, Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Five years of prior experience in facilities maintenance and/or construction, three years of prior experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Skills: Solid knowledge of shop mathematics, ability to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints, skill in the use of tools and equipment common to the trade, basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Must hold a valid California driver's license, meet the insurance requirements of Chumash Enterprises, and apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Personal Qualities: Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends, strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
