As a Nutrition Services Manager at Good Shepherd Med Ctr, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nutrition care to our patients. This position requires a strong leader who can supervise diet clerks, educate staff on therapeutic diets, and act as a liaison between patients and the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise diet clerks and ensure they are meeting the nutritional needs of our patients.
  • Educate staff on therapeutic diets and provide guidance on implementing nutrition care plans.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and the kitchen to ensure that their dietary needs are met.
  • Participate in daily patient rounds (care conferences) to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Lead the nutrition, physical activity, and mental health aspects of the group diabetes education program.
  • Assess, evaluate, and maintain professional development and competency related to the competencies outlined in the position description.
  • Screen patients for nutritional problems and implement the nutrition care process for patients with nutrition diagnosis.
  • Foster continuity of care across the continuum of care.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish patient goals.

Requirements:

  • Capable of providing nutrition education to patients and family members.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
