Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of the quality and capability of manufacturing processes within the Assembly department.
  • Utilize engineering principles and analytical techniques to foster continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the development of both interim and permanent corrective actions to address quality issues, employing 8D methodology and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Contribute significantly to the Launch process by establishing and monitoring quality target levels at the workstation level for each build phase, ensuring readiness.
  • Conduct process audits to verify adherence to Vehicle Operations guidelines and specific process standards.
  • Act as a team leader in resolving assembly-related challenges.
  • Champion variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives, implementing best practices.
  • Support ISO 14001 compliance and assist with internal ISO auditing as necessary.
  • Manage and direct statistical process control activities.
  • Review internal and external suppliers for critical characteristic process compatibility.
  • Support efficiency planning to ensure workstations are properly set up with identified quality risks addressed.

Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma with relevant manufacturing or technology engineering experience.
  • Prior experience in automotive quality analysis and production supervision.

Required Skills
We are looking for candidates with:

  • Proficiency in 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience with Lean Tools such as 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Experience with FMEA, PPAP, and DOE.
  • Six Sigma knowledge, particularly DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ergonomic analysis.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
