Scope of the Position:
The Financial Operations Specialist is tasked with overseeing all fiscal activities of the facility.

This encompasses the generation of regular financial reports, upkeep of accounting records, implementation of internal controls, and budget management aimed at minimizing risk while enhancing the precision of the organization's financial disclosures.

The Specialist provides analytical support to assist the Plant Controller in making informed business decisions aligned with corporate objectives.

This position reports directly to the Plant Controller.

Responsibilities:


Supervise the accounting department's functions to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial management reports, including but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and budget preparations.


Manage the disbursement department's operations, ensuring the precise and prompt processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, and full compliance with corporate payroll tax regulations.


Direct the accounts receivable department to guarantee the accurate and timely management of all components related to accounts receivable aging, including billing, cash applications, funding management, and quarter and year-end closings, along with federal and state reporting.

Oversee payroll systems to ensure timely and accurate employee payments, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.

Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including Federal, State/Provincial, and Municipal/Local income, payroll, and property taxes.


Establish and uphold systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, thereby enhancing the organization's value.

Respond to the Plant Controller as needed with precise and timely work to support financial requirements.

Engage in a variety of special projects and compile diverse reports as necessary.

Communicate with colleagues, management, clients, and others in a respectful and professional manner.

Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.


Safeguard assets and ensure the accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing rigorous internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments.

Manage the accuracy and reporting of the perpetual inventory system, ensuring precise cost accounting for all inventory items.

Ensure financial strategies align with organizational goals.

Provide financial analysis tools to assess company ventures, special projects, programs, capital expenditures, and product costing.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or;

Community College diploma in a relevant discipline or;

Two years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing setting.

Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant credentials.

Strong organizational capabilities.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Proficiency in database applications and administrative systems, particularly Microsoft Office.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Must be a highly motivated, service-oriented individual with a keen attention to detail.

A willingness to embrace challenges and new initiatives is essential.

Strong analytical skills

Supervisory and interpersonal abilities are required

Problem-solving skills are essential

Demonstrated internal customer service skills

Proven presentation capabilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Detail-oriented

Good computer proficiency

Working Conditions

Physical ability to lift 25lbs.

Travel as necessary.

Manual dexterity required for using desktop computers and peripherals.

Overtime may be required.
