Role Summary:
The Accountant will oversee all financial functions within the plant. This role encompasses the preparation of regular financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, implementation of internal controls, and budgeting strategies aimed at minimizing risks while enhancing the precision of the company's financial disclosures. The Accountant will provide analytical support to assist the Plant Controller in making informed business decisions aligned with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting department's activities to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and budget preparations.
  • Supervise the disbursement department to guarantee the precise and prompt processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, and compliance with corporate payroll tax regulations.
  • Oversee the accounts receivable department to ensure the effective management of all aging components, including billing, cash application, funding management, and year-end closing procedures.
  • Ensure the payroll systems operate smoothly to provide timely and accurate employee payments, manage benefits, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements at federal, state, and local levels regarding income, payroll, and property taxes.
  • Establish and uphold systems and controls that verify the integrity of all processes and data, thereby enhancing the company's value.
  • Respond to the Plant Controller with timely and accurate work to support financial needs.
  • Engage in various special projects and compile diverse reports as required.
  • Maintain professional communication with colleagues, management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Comply with all regulations, policies, and work procedures.
  • Protect company assets and ensure accurate recording of all transactions through internal audits and controls.
  • Manage the accuracy and reporting of the perpetual inventory system, ensuring correct cost accounting for all inventory items.
  • Align financial plans with organizational goals.
  • Provide analytical tools to assess company ventures, special projects, capital expenditures, and product costing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
  • Community College diploma in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of progressive experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in database applications and administrative systems, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Highly motivated, service-oriented individual with a keen attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated internal customer service skills and good presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with proficient computer skills.

Working Conditions:
