KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a collaborative environment and facilitate knowledge sharing while supporting various mills with pulp and paper expertise.
  • Engage with manufacturing professionals to enhance their development and local expertise, ensuring their independence.
  • Guide local teams in troubleshooting equipment issues to promote continuous learning.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for identified inefficiencies and failures.
  • Review monthly and quarterly corrective actions and significant losses to help prioritize action plans for technical improvements.
  • Work with plant leaders to define and prioritize projects and mandates for the group's paper machines.
  • Provide technical expertise in engineering, investment, and development projects, offering informed recommendations.
  • Introduce innovative technologies and products to the plants and collaborate on product development or alternatives.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, operational efficiencies, and unexplored potential related to paper machines and associated processes.
  • Ensure the proper utilization of resources (chemicals, production supplies, etc.) across the board.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant supply markets, competitors, and product innovations to recognize threats and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & STRENGTHS

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and legal authorization to visit multiple sites.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), layout drawings, and mechanical schematics.
