We are seeking a highly skilled Pulp and Paper Technical Expert to join our team at Cascades. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in promoting a collaborative approach and knowledge transfer across our various mills.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and local expertise of manufacturing professionals through significant contributions to their growth and autonomy.
- Coach local teams in troubleshooting equipment issues to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide corrective action recommendations to address inefficiencies and failures.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly corrective actions and major losses to assist plants in prioritizing action plans to reduce technical obstacles.
- Collaborate with plant leaders to establish and prioritize projects and/or mandates for the group's paper machines.
- Provide expertise in engineering and/or investment and/or development projects, making recommendations as needed.
- Introduce new technologies and/or products into the plants and collaborate on product development or substitution.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, operational gains, and untapped opportunities concerning paper machines and related processes.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources, including chemicals and production supplies.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets, competitors, and product innovations, understanding competition to identify threats/opportunities.
- 10 years' cumulative experience relevant to the position and area of expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel (between 50% and 75% of the time) and legal authorization to travel to multiple sites.
- Experience reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), layout drawings, and mechanical drawings.
