KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a collaborative environment and facilitate knowledge sharing while supporting various mills with pulp and paper expertise.
  • Engage with manufacturing professionals to significantly contribute to their development and local expertise, ensuring their independence.
  • Guide local teams in troubleshooting equipment issues to promote continuous learning.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions when inefficiencies or failures arise.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly corrective actions and major losses to assist plants in prioritizing action plans for reducing technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders to establish and prioritize projects and mandates for the group's paper machines.
  • Provide expertise in engineering, investment, and development projects, making informed recommendations.
  • Introduce innovative technologies and products into the plants, collaborating on product development or substitution.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, operational efficiencies, and untapped potential concerning paper machines and related processes.
  • Ensure correct utilization of resources (chemicals, production supplies, etc.) across the board.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets, competitors, and product innovations; understand competition to identify threats and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years of cumulative experience relevant to the position and area of expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel (between 50% and 75% of the time) and legal authorization to travel to multiple sites.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), layout drawings, and mechanical drawings.
