Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the commissioning process for electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transformers, and distribution panels.
  • Evaluate and authorize electrical design documents, drawings, and schematics to ensure adherence to specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and execute functional testing, verification, and acceptance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including troubleshooting faults, alarms, and anomalies.
  • Advise on routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Create detailed commissioning reports and documentation, maintaining accurate records of all activities and findings.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures in collaboration with the project team.
  • Provide training and support to operations staff on electrical systems and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, codes, and standards related to data center electrical systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical commissioning within data center or critical facility environments.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, NFPA, NEC, and IEEE.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resourceful and proactive in addressing issues.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Work Environment
  • This position may operate in an office environment but will require regular visits to construction sites.
  • Job requires working in various weather conditions depending on job location and time of year.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities.
  • Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses) must be worn at all times, with a respirator when necessary.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers is required.
  • Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
