Job Description:

As a Behavioral Health Counselor with the GeorgiaGov, you will work under general supervision to counsel individuals and groups, promoting optimum mental health and well-being. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping clients overcome dependencies, recover from illness, and adjust to life's challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients in individual and group sessions to address mental health concerns, substance abuse, and other issues.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition and monitor progress according to measurable goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client records and prepare required treatment reports.
Requirements:

A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required, along with 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use, and developmental disabilities. A license is also required for this position.
