Job Summary:

GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will work under general supervision to counsel individuals and groups, promoting optimum mental health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel clients in individual and group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, recover from illness, and adjust to life.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Two years of previous work experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use, and developmental disabilities.
  • Licensure is required for this position.
