ROLE OVERVIEW

As a member of the Technology Development Team, you will have the opportunity to engage in groundbreaking projects, leverage cutting-edge tools, and foster a culture of innovation. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the development and integration of autonomous systems into our product offerings, including Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, and Telehandlers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct essential autonomy development tasks, including:
- System trade studies
- Component modeling for inertial measurement units (IMU), global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), cameras, radar, and LiDAR
- Simulation of navigation algorithms, particularly Bayesian filters.

2. Propose and assess architectural concepts, performing technology trade-off analyses.

3. Define and validate requirements for sensors and state estimation software, focusing on:
- Sensor selection
- Monitoring and fault detection
- Sensor fusion.

4. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate complex hardware/software systems.

5. Engage in rapid prototyping to advance sensing and autonomy capabilities.

6. Analyze and select sensor solutions for navigation systems.

7. Participate in defining requirements and describing (sub)-functions.

8. Deliver technical presentations and provide support to Autonomy/Engineering stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

2. Minimum of 6 years of experience in sensor signal processing and sensor fusion algorithms.

3. Familiarity with navigation systems and performance analysis, including state error estimation and optimal state estimation filters such as Kalman Filter and Extended Kalman Filter (EKF).

4. Experience in developing and integrating state estimation algorithms for robotic systems, including localization, calibration, mapping, or SLAM applications.

5. Proficiency in object-oriented programming and agile software development practices.

6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proactive approach to collaboration.

7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

PREFERRED SKILLS

1. Proficiency in C++ (C++11 and higher) and Python.

2. Familiarity with Make and CMake.

3. Experience with ROS1 or ROS2.

4. Knowledge of modern software development workflows, including version control and unit testing.

5. Understanding of optimization algorithms, computer vision, and machine learning.
