Position Overview:

The Front Counter Associate plays a vital role in establishing a welcoming atmosphere focused on customer satisfaction while ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions during each shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify initial cash balance at the start of the shift.
  • Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism.
  • Prepare and serve beverages, including coffee and tea, while acting as a barista for specialty drinks.
  • Maintain and replenish food displays, ensuring they are visually appealing and well-stocked.
  • Set up and manage the condiment station effectively.
  • Oversee the front-of-house (FOH) setup, including signage and table arrangements.
  • Manage the cashier station, ensuring smooth operation and accurate cash flow.
  • Engage with guests, providing information about menu items, allergens, and nutritional content.
  • Utilize upselling techniques to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
  • Prepare baked goods, including frosting cakes and cutting desserts.
  • Maintain cleanliness by emptying trash and performing sweeping and mopping duties as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with guests to address their needs and concerns.
  • Alert management to any guest issues that require immediate attention.
  • Exhibit a friendly demeanor, responding promptly to guest requests.
  • Support company initiatives related to sales, guest service, and food safety.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards consistently.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with food delivery and bussing as needed.
  • Participate in cleanup and restocking efforts.
  • Ensure restrooms are maintained in a clean condition.
  • Perform additional tasks as required, including cleaning and food preparation.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • State Food Handler card or ServSafe certification as applicable.
  • Preferred experience of at least 3 months in a cash handling role, ideally in a restaurant or retail setting.
  • Strong guest service and communication skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient in using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Basic math skills are required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
