Ultrasound Fellowship Opportunity

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking multiple candidates to join the faculty as tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructors for its Ultrasound Fellowship. This esteemed program is designed to produce national leaders in the field of emergency ultrasound and is directed by Dr. Christopher Thom, Ultrasound Director.

Program Overview

The Ultrasound Fellowship is a comprehensive program that provides fellows with advanced training in emergency ultrasound, including point-of-care ultrasound, critical care ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures. The program is designed to produce fellows who are proficient in the use of ultrasound in emergency medicine and who can apply this knowledge in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO and have completed an ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine residency or ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine, or approved subspecialty, fellowship. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible and be eligible to obtain clinical privileges in the UVA Department of Emergency Medicine, or subspecialty, prior to July 2025. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate a genuine passion in the area of interest to which they apply.
