Position Overview

The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at UVA Health System is in search of two dedicated, full-time, Fellowship-trained Radiologists to become integral members of a newly established Division of Emergency Medicine. These roles will adhere to a conventional academic schedule comprising four clinical shifts and one academic shift weekly.

Work Schedule

The work shifts will encompass a combination of daytime (8 AM to 5 PM) and evening (1 PM to 10 PM) hours, conducted from a specialized Emergency Reading Room situated in proximity to the Emergency Department. Opportunities for remote shifts will also be available.

Clinical Responsibilities

Primary clinical responsibilities will involve a diverse array of imaging modalities, including Ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, and plain films, contributing to approximately 60-65 wRVUs per shift. Residents will be present on-site during night shifts to support the team.

Team Environment

Our Emergency Radiologists will collaborate with a robust team comprising 40 residents, 27 Fellows/Instructors, and around 60 Clinical Faculty members within a Level-1 Trauma Center. They will oversee all imaging aspects for patients in the emergency department presenting with minor to severe traumatic conditions.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess an MD or equivalent degree, be eligible for Virginia State Medical Licensure, and be ABR Certified/Eligible or have equivalent qualifications. A strong interest in pursuing a career in academic radiology is essential. Academic rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
