Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Cyber Security Specialist dedicated to providing security and information assurance for cloud-based solutions within the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC). This role is a full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguard Azure cloud applications through comprehensive tasks including scan and patch management, cybersecurity planning, policy management, cyber auditing, configuration oversight, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization Management, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM-O) in developing and maintaining essential policies, procedures, diagrams, hardware/software inventories, and all necessary documentation to secure and uphold the Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Engage in various cybersecurity activities such as: scan and patch management; planning and policy formulation; auditing; configuration oversight; RMF Authorization Management; incident response; vulnerability assessments; STIG compliance verification; HBSS/Endpoint Security Solutions; network access control; and creation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M).

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity and information assurance. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required. Candidates must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification, such as CISSP, CASP+ CE, or CISA. Additionally, a Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (AZ104) certification or higher is mandatory. Proficiency with cybersecurity/IT tools like ACAS, HBSS/ESS, and eMASS is essential. Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is expected. Knowledge of the NIST 800 series framework, particularly the Risk Management Framework Process, is crucial. Experience in information security, including technical assessments of IT security controls and devices for networks, applications, and systems—especially cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure—is necessary. Candidates should have a background in IT audits, compliance, enterprise risk management, policy development, security scanning, and device hardening. The ability to act as a subject matter expert in assessing technical risks and understanding the implications of system configuration changes on security posture is required. Experience in implementing cybersecurity controls in cloud environments, specifically within Microsoft Azure, is essential. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and hold a current Secret clearance.
