Position Overview
Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a dedicated Cyber Security Specialist to deliver security and information assurance services for cloud-based solutions. This role focuses on supporting the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at Aberdeen Proving Ground and is a full-time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard Azure cloud applications through effective scanning, patch management, cyber security strategy development, policy oversight, cyber auditing, configuration management, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization Management, and DevSecOps practices.
- Assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM-O) in the formulation and upkeep of essential policies, procedures, diagrams, hardware/software inventories, and other artifacts necessary for obtaining and sustaining the Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Engage in various cyber security activities, including but not limited to: scanning and patch management; strategic planning and policy formulation; auditing; configuration oversight; RMF Authorization Management; incident response; vulnerability assessments; STIG compliance evaluations; HBSS/Endpoint Security Solutions; network access control; and creation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security and information assurance. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required. Candidates must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification, such as CISSP, CASP+ CE, or CISA. Additionally, a Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (AZ104) certification or higher is mandatory. Proficiency in cyber security and IT tools, including ACAS, HBSS/ESS, and eMASS, is essential. Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is preferred. A solid understanding of the NIST 800 series framework, particularly the Risk Management Framework Process, is crucial. Experience in information security, including technical assessments of IT security controls and devices for networks, applications, and systems—especially cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure—is required. Candidates should have a background in IT auditing, compliance, enterprise risk management, policy development, security scanning, and providing technical security guidance. The ability to evaluate technical risks and understand the implications of system configuration changes on security posture is necessary. Experience in implementing cyber security controls in cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure, is essential. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold a current Secret clearance.
