Job Title: Director of Business Services

St. Croix River Education District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Business Services to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial and administrative leadership to support the district's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective budgeting practices and financial management systems to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee compensation and benefit administration, including payroll, group insurance, and other benefits.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment law, board policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to staff members, including the Special Education Data Coordinator, Accounting Technician, and Special Services/HR Office Administrative Assistant.
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including federal funds, and ensure compliance with state and federal mandates.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in a related position, preferably in a public school setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to maintain high ethical and confidential standards.
