Pharmaceutical Development Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Development Scientist to join our team at Phlow Corp in Petersburg, VA.
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
About the JobThis is a unique opportunity for a skilled scientist to work on the development of synthetic routes for drug substances. You will be responsible for designing, synthesizing, purifying, and analyzing chemical intermediates, target compounds, and impurities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop synthetic routes for drug substances.
- Perform multi-step chemical syntheses and product isolation/purification operations in the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of all experiments and observations.
- Author progress reports and present scientific results to team members.
- Exhibit a high level of safety awareness and conduct lab operations in a safe manner.
- Contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of regulatory submissions.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field. A Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience, M.S. with 7+ years of experience, or B.S. degree with 10+ years of experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in process chemistry and API manufacturing on a multi-kilogram scale is also essential. Knowledge of ICH and cGMP requirements is a must.

- Process chemistry and API manufacturing experience on multi-kilogram scale.
- Knowledge of ICH and cGMP requirements.
- Experience working for a contract organization (CROs/CMOs/CDMOs).
- Experience with technical and operational risk assessments.
