Fiber Splicer and Tester Job Summary

Congruex LLC is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer and Tester to join our team in the Northern Virginia area. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and testing fiber optic cables in various environments, including underground and aerial settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret prints and understand fiber optic color codes to install and test fiber cable.
  • Operate fiber fusion splicing machines, including mass fusion splicing machines, and utilize OTDRs, power meters, and VFLs for testing.
  • Place aerial and underground splice closures, as well as other closures common to fiber optic cable splicing and termination.
  • Bond and ground fibers according to client specifications.
  • Maintain a professional working attitude with coworkers and customers, adhering to safety practices and procedures.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience as a fiber splicer.
  • Experience working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
  • Thorough working knowledge of widely used construction practices of fiber cable.
  • Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to carry a 24-foot ladder and wear fall protection when needed.
  • Willingness to work up to 6 days per week in an all-weather environment and travel as required.
