Position Overview
This role is a 0.9 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) position requiring a commitment of 36 hours per week. Shifts will be scheduled from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7 AM and 8 PM, including one evening shift weekly and participation in a Saturday morning rotation approximately every other month.

Role Responsibilities

WORK HOURS: 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7 AM and 8 PM. Evening shifts and Saturday morning shifts will be required on a rotating basis.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring accurate patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and coordination of necessary medical services. The individual must effectively manage communication during high-volume periods and with complex patient cases.

KEY DUTIES: The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following essential functions:
  • Conduct thorough and precise patient registration, including walk-ins and scheduled appointments.
  • Exhibit adaptability and efficiency during peak times and with patients of varying complexities.
  • Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients and stakeholders, addressing general inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Support Point of Service Collections and perform necessary tasks to secure patient payments.
  • Direct patients to the appropriate resources for inquiries regarding billing, insurance, and financial assistance.
  • Communicate essential information to patients about co-pays, out-of-pocket expenses, and appointment logistics.
  • Verify patient and insurance information, ensuring compliance with referral and authorization processes.
  • Understand and apply insurance coverage details, performing both electronic and manual verifications.
  • Manage medical records by preparing and scanning necessary documents into the electronic health record system.
  • Complete compliance documentation and adhere to regulatory standards relevant to the role.
  • Screen and relay messages according to established protocols for various call types.
  • Assist unscheduled patients in obtaining financial clearance.
  • Complete assigned patient scheduling and registration tasks in accordance with performance metrics.
  • Resolve issues related to work queues and missing registration items using the electronic medical record system.
  • For regional roles, occasional travel to various sites may be required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Travel to different locations within the region to meet operational needs.
  • Provide mentorship and support to new team members during their onboarding process.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least one year of experience in clerical, customer service, or administrative support roles within a customer-focused environment.
  • One year of experience with basic computer skills and office equipment.
  • For regional positions, a valid driver's license is necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One year of experience in patient registration, point of service collections, and insurance verification.
  • Prior experience in a Revenue Cycle role within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with Epic or similar Electronic Medical Record systems.
