Job Title: Area Director of Facilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Director of Facilities to join our team at Sutter Health. This is a hybrid role with both onsite and at-home opportunities.

Job Summary:

The Area Director of Facilities will be responsible for leading and managing the regional operations of acute or large portfolios of ambulatory/non-acute facilities. This includes implementing policies, procedures, and programs, as well as overseeing the maintenance and repair of facilities to ensure they meet the requirements of the applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). The successful candidate will have a strong background in facility planning, project management, and strategic business planning, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage regional operations of acute or large portfolios of ambulatory/non-acute facilities
  • Implement policies, procedures, and programs to ensure effective facility management
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of facilities to ensure compliance with AHJ requirements
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and financial performance of assets
  • Provide leadership direction to facility leads, business office, and process improvement projects
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote and ensure effective facility operations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 12 years of recent relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of facility planning, project management, and strategic business planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create an environment that encourages cooperation, motivation, innovation, and high-performance teamwork
