As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for directing financial activities, including treasury, budgeting, audits, tax, accounting, payroll, and human resources.

LTD Global is a nonprofit organization that offers various services and programs focused on animal care, adoption, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to protect and improve the lives of animals in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare timely financial reports for management and the Board of Directors.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor accounting policies and procedures.
  • Direct and coordinate the budget and projection process and provide financial guidance and analysis in these procedures.
  • Manage cash flow, perform projections, and ensure adequate cash reserves.
  • Prepare annual audit work papers and tax return schedules.
  • Serve as a staff liaison to the Board's Finance and Audit Committees and, to the Board as a whole, regarding financial matters.
  • Work with the Finance Committee to establish investment policies, monitor performance of investment portfolio managers, and ensure consistency in accounting and reporting practices.
  • Assist the Audit Committee in obtaining bids and interviewing auditors and serve as a liaison to the audit firm.
  • Recommend to management major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the organization.
  • Work with the Development Department to ensure appropriate application and management of donor restricted funds and reconciliation of development and accounting databases.
  • Work with Shelter Operations to ensure that county contract funds are expended consistently within the terms of the contract and that the administrative and reporting requirements of the agreement are met.
  • Direct the performance of the Finance, Human Resource, and Purchasing departments.
  • Participate in selecting and administering the employee benefits program, retirement plan, general liability insurance packages, employee and labor relations, recruitment and selections, training and development.
  • Conduct analyses to identify trends, assess costs, allocate shared expenses, identify potential cost savings or revenue generation areas, and assess the financial impact of new programs.
  • Establish and maintain solid banking relationships.
  • Set annual objectives for the division consistent with the organization's operating goals and ensure that these objectives are met.
  • Ensure that the Finance Division meets organizational and external deadlines.
  • Serve as a member of the senior management team as appropriate and directed.
  • Review financial performance, monitor budget variances, and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure bank accounts are reconciled monthly, prepare sales tax returns, and county remittance/invoice.
  • Prepare miscellaneous governmental reports and filings.
  • Maintain reconciliation of all accounts.
  • Establish, document, monitor, and update accounting system software.
  • Work with outside consultants regarding management, contractual, and government audits.
  • Review and approve invoices for weekly check run.
  • Maintain file copies of all Minutes of and other documents related to the Board of Directors meetings.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly manage employees in Accounting/Finance, Purchasing, and Human Resources and, indirectly, the several programs under those areas such as Information Technology (IT).
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possesses expertise in non-profit accounting.
  • Familiar with non-profit budgeting and audit processes.
  • Passionate about the organization and its employees, demonstrating patience, care, and compassion.
  • Hands-on and forward-thinking approach.
