Job Summary

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our operations and ensure the delivery of our annual business plans. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for controlling the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Relations: Effectively manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
  • Staff Management: Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
  • Communication: Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
  • Safety and Training: Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Client Management: Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Operational Metrics: Conduct periodic departmental audits and review daily, weekly, and monthly key operational metrics.
  • Financial Management: Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported, and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets its financial, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Policies and Procedures: Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Labor Relations: Interact with labor committees to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Contract Renewals: Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
  • Budgeting: Create and present location(s) annual budget.
Qualifications
  • Talent Requirements: College degree or equivalent business management experience.
  • Management Experience: Management experience required.
  • Operations Management: Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in operations management and a combination of 7 years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
  • Labor Negotiations: Must have labor/union(s) negotiations/expenses expertise.
  • Dispatch and Scheduling: Must have a full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
  • Technical Skills: MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and high degree of multi-tasking skills.
