Job Title: Gas Chromatography (GC) Instrument Specialist

Job Summary:
In the role of GC Instrument Specialist, you will oversee the repair, servicing, and maintenance of GC instruments to guarantee their optimal functionality. You will collaborate with vendors on GC-related initiatives while delivering essential technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical assistance for GC instrumentation and methodologies.
  • Service and maintain GC instruments to ensure peak operational performance.
  • Set up, develop, and commission GC instruments with the support of local laboratory management.
  • Educate staff on the efficient operation and maintenance of GC instruments.
  • Support GC systems and software applications.
  • Coordinate with vendors and clients on GC-related projects.
  • Work collaboratively with field teams, operations coordinators, and laboratory personnel to facilitate smooth and efficient workflows.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience supervising personnel in a laboratory environment.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with GC and/or GCMS instruments.
  • Be flexible with scheduling to accommodate shifts, including extended hours and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Exhibit the ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrate high precision with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be dependable and reliable, capable of following instructions with minimal oversight.
  • Be physically capable of lifting heavy items, climbing, bending, and reaching without limitations.
Additional Information:
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Engage in safety meetings and training, and take action in unsafe situations.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and maintain readiness to address workplace incidents.
  • Ensure waste disposal complies with regulations and report all incidents accordingly.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
