Position Overview
The Bilingual Associate Attorney role is a full-time opportunity at Cole Law Group, located in Brentwood, TN. The selected candidate will be tasked with offering legal counsel to clients, performing legal research, negotiating agreements, and drafting various legal documents, among other essential duties. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a cover letter, resume, and a sample of legal writing.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Spanish (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Law school GPA of 3.0 or higher and/or ranking in the top 30% of the class.
- Familiarity with the Clio practice management software.
- Strong skills in legal research, particularly using Lexis.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated interest in litigation through relevant work experience or involvement in Moot Court, Trial Advocacy, or Law Journal.
- Strong work ethic and professionalism.
- Possession of a valid license to practice law in Tennessee or the ability to obtain it through waiver or examination within nine months of employment.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Competency in Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional, especially for bates stamping.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting senior attorneys with trial and hearing preparations.
- Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
- Managing discovery requests and responses.
- Overseeing deadlines for individual cases.
- Communicating with other law firms, clerks, and court chambers regarding depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Representing the firm in procedural and administrative hearings.
- Providing translation services between Spanish and English for team members as needed.
