We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist I or II to join our team at the University of California San Francisco. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Services team, you will provide a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services to patients of all age groups.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care services to patients, including airway maintenance, manual and mechanical ventilatory support, and administration of therapeutic gases and inhaled aerosol medications.
- Obtain, review, and interpret data to assess the need for and response to respiratory care interventions, and consult with medical and nursing personnel to optimize patient care planning.
- Perform arterial blood gas analysis and various cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures.
- Provide patient and family instruction in respiratory therapy self-administration and proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of respiratory care protocols and guidelines.
- Respiratory Therapist I: Valid and current California Respiratory Care Board Respiratory Care Practitioner License, Current Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) Certificate from NBRC, and Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (HCP) certification.
- Respiratory Therapist II: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of California, BLS, PALs - Specific to Pediatric Clinical Team Leaders / Core, NRP - Specific to Neonatal Clinical Team Leaders, RRT - Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.
- Respiratory Therapist I: Prior experience and demonstrated abilities in critical or emergency care, implementation and application of patient-driven protocols.
- Respiratory Therapist II: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training, ACLS, PALs - Specific to Non Pediatric Team Leader / Core Member, NRP - Specific to Non Neonatal Clinical Team Leader / Core Member.
