About the Position

The Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency is seeking a Physical Therapist I/II to join our team in the California Children's Services Medical Therapy Unit. As a Physical Therapist I/II, you will provide assessment, case management, and physical therapy services to physically disabled children. This is an extra help position, working up to 900 hours in a fiscal year, with no benefits included.

Responsibilities
  • Provide physical therapy services for physically disabled children
  • Institute therapy as prescribed by physicians
  • Evaluate therapeutic techniques, including gait training, transfer training, and therapeutic exercise
  • Conduct equipment assessments with a physical or occupational therapist
  • Participate in a comprehensive team approach to client services
  • Complete medical records, including evaluation reports, equipment assessments, progress summaries, and clinical notes
Requirements
  • Possession of a current physical therapy license in the state of California
  • Possession of an appropriate California driver's license
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably with 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist I
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this job include walking, standing, communicating with clients and families, and visually assessing client treatment and safety. The work environment is a pediatric rehabilitation facility, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or toxic chemicals.
