Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients in a surgical setting, working closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide advanced nursing care, including wound management, pain management, and medication administration
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as delegated by the supervising physician
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patients, ensuring seamless transitions of care
Requirements
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - NP
  • Current RN First Assist Certification and specialty certification as required by department
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by department
  • Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program
