Job Summary

Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled Financial Crimes Compliance Senior Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Crimes Compliance team, you will be responsible for performing Anti Money Laundering (AML) and/or Fraud alert/case reviews, seeking to mitigate risks associated with financial crimes and suspicious activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing AML and/or Fraud alert/case reviews to identify and mitigate financial crimes and suspicious activity.
  • Applying research and analytic techniques to analyze complex information sets and make logical and adequately supported determinations.
  • Applying consistent and well-documented analysis aligned with industry standards to ensure success in Transaction Monitoring.
  • Conducting end-to-end and meticulous reviews of potential illegal or suspicious activity.
  • Completing time-sensitive and meticulous analysis of each instance of potential OFAC Sanctions violations, Anti-Money Laundering activity, Fraud and/or suspicious financial activity across multiple jurisdictions and countries.
  • Assessing customer profiles and client data to identify whether activity is consistent with typical purchasing/payment activity.
  • Documenting findings in narrative style format and preparing updates to Project Managers/Team Leads as appropriate.
  • Making determinations and drafting and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR).
  • Performing complex case investigations related to external escalations such as 314b, Subpoena and Law Enforcement requests.
  • Executing and delivering high-quality work product, functioning both independently and in a collaborative setting with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Learning client procedures, systems, and processes and adhering to client requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree).
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance).
  • Knowledge of Financial Crimes Compliance functions such as OFAC Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering, KYC, CDD, EDD and/or Financial Fraud Investigations.
  • Understanding of the legal, corporate governance, and regulatory environment related to the BSA and USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Experience working with manual and system-generated alerts/cases for the detection of potentially suspicious activity.
  • Knowledge of US reporting requirements as it relates to suspicious activity reports and cash transaction activity.
  • Ability to detect and mitigate red flags for potential financial crime, including money laundering, terrorism financing activities, and fraud, as it appears in transactional data.
  • Transaction analysis skills related to international wires, corresponding banking, cash, and check activity.
  • Experience composing and filing Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to excel within a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a production-driven environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite Products.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new policies, procedures, and vendor systems.
  • A demonstrable willingness to work more than 40 hours when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience assessing and reviewing system-generated and manual AML alerts and/or escalations/SAR write-ups for potentially suspicious activity.
  • Experience with financial crimes risks associated with Transaction Monitoring/Screening/Fraud Operations/SAR Reporting/Identification and Verification of Customers, KYC, CDD, and EDD.
  • General Compliance function and process knowledge (Transaction Monitoring/Screening/Fraud Operations/SAR Reporting/Identification and Verification of Customers, KYC, CDD, and EDD).
  • CAMS certification.
