Position Overview:
The Building Automation Technician I utilizes expertise in various trades, including electrical, mechanical, and telecommunications, to manage computer-based control systems and environmental control equipment in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to effectively install and maintain building automation systems, ensuring seamless project initiation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify electronic control system issues.
  • Oversee assigned tasks to uphold professional standards, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promptly report any issues or changes to management.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers and subcontractors to coordinate project activities ethically and professionally.
  • Adapt to diverse working conditions, including elevated heights and confined spaces.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment, delivering dedicated support to clients.
  • Adhere to project timelines and established processes.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of tools and techniques for maintaining and diagnosing HVAC/R and associated electrical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting building automation systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex control systems.
  • Familiarity with BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DDC, PLC, or similar Ladder-Logic programming is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience with various DDC systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Skilled in safely using hand and power tools.
  • Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient with computer systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • May be required to undergo a drug test.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, on-call, and holidays as needed.
