Job Overview

This position is pivotal in directing the architecture, execution, and upkeep of resilient and scalable software frameworks. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises the setup, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management utilities.
  • Evaluates and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies feasible solutions, and collaborates with developers to implement necessary adjustments.
  • Enhances software systems for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency to ensure an optimal user experience.
  • Collects all system engineering requirements for infrastructure components by engaging with engineering teams and other stakeholders.
  • Leads multiple project teams of software systems engineers responsible for all phases of design and development for intricate products and platforms, encompassing solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
  • Manages and nurtures relationships with both internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.
  • Reviews and assesses designs and project activities for adherence to systems design and development standards; provides constructive feedback to enhance product quality and mitigate risks of failure.
  • Offers domain-specific expertise and overarching software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organizational projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • Fosters innovation and the integration of new technologies into projects and activities within the software systems design domain.
  • Mentors and guides less-experienced staff members.
Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience demonstrating proficiency.
  • Typically possesses 7-10 years of professional experience, ideally in systems engineering, computer programming, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional experience with C++ programming language (version 11 and above), comfortable with a codebase exceeding 400,000 lines of code distributed across multiple repositories, and adept with dependency injection, mocking, and creating unit-testable code.
  • Proficient with Visual Studio 2022 IDE.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets, with variations based on defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $211,000 annually, with additional opportunities for bonuses and/or equity. Pay within this range may vary by work location and depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
