Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Monitor and assess application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and collaborate with developers to implement those fixes.
  • Enhance software systems for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency to guarantee an optimal user experience.
  • Collect all system engineering requirements for infrastructure components by engaging with engineering groups and other stakeholders.
  • Lead multiple project teams of software systems engineers responsible for all phases of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.
  • Review and evaluate designs and project activities for adherence to systems design and development guidelines and standards; provide constructive feedback to enhance product quality and mitigate failure risks.
  • Offer domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Drive innovation and the integration of new technologies into projects and activities within the software systems design organization.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less-experienced staff members.
Education & Experience Requirements

  • A four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience demonstrating competence.
  • Typically possesses 7-10 years of professional experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming, or a related domain.
  • 7+ years of professional experience with C++ programming language (11 and above), comfortable with a codebase exceeding 400k lines of code across multiple repositories, and confident in dependency injection, mocking, and creating unit-testable code.
  • Proficient with Visual Studio 2022 IDE.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets, with variations based on defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $211,000 annually, with additional opportunities for bonuses and/or equity. Pay within this range may vary by work location and is also influenced by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
