Job Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in generating a robust pipeline of prospects and securing new business opportunities to propel the company's growth.

Optimim specializes in the production of metal injection molded components, leveraging advanced engineering expertise and proprietary manufacturing techniques. We aim to deliver cost-effective solutions to our North American clientele by identifying opportunities for product redesign and consolidation through metal injection molding.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic professional adept at forging connections and establishing rapport within new accounts or divisions. You will leverage your industry knowledge to challenge conventional thinking and demonstrate the value of Optimim's solutions in addressing complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned prospect accounts to achieve substantial sales growth through the acquisition of new business.
  • Build and nurture relationships within new accounts, quickly grasping organizational structures to identify key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for stakeholders, assisting them in overcoming intricate, precision-engineered part challenges.
  • Utilize consultative selling methods to educate customers about their industry and present unique insights that align with Optimim's capabilities.
  • Highlight the advantages of Optimim's offerings and create urgency for closing deals by emphasizing the potential losses of not partnering with us.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineering and Plant Engineering teams to expedite new business acquisitions and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement effective pursuit strategies to foster relationship growth, improve sales pipeline quality, accelerate deal closures, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Optimim's influence within accounts and across all divisions of Form Technologies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or successful account development; relevant industry experience may substitute for sales experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience in the MIM industry or familiarity with tooling, design, and metals is advantageous; an engineering background is preferred.
  • Business Acumen - Ability to communicate effectively about customer business metrics such as profit, expenses, and productivity, aligning solutions to create value.
  • Strategic Thinker - Capable of hypothesizing customer challenges and systematically developing solutions, collaborating with internal teams as needed.
  • Hunter Mentality - Proven track record of identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Effective Communicator - Skilled in tailoring communication to meet customer needs; proficient in both formal and informal presentations.
  • Influencer - Utilizes both rational and emotional appeals to guide customer stakeholders toward choosing Optimim.
  • Networking Skills - Quickly identifies and builds relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate consensus for successful deals.
  • Willingness to Travel - Open to traveling up to 70% to engage with customer stakeholders.
