Position Summary

The Senior Vice President of Insurance Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing all facets of risk underwriting for our profit center. This leadership position is responsible for guiding the underwriting team and managing the operational aspects of the underwriting division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the production elements of various programs managed by the profit center, including public entity workers' compensation and emergency management organization coverages.
  • Engage in the budgeting and forecasting processes for both annual and interim production and expenses.
  • Contribute to the development of new insurance programs as required.
  • Act as a backup to existing sales personnel when necessary.
  • Provide strategic guidance to sales teams regarding risk selection to enhance overall program profitability and stability.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Claims departments to ensure the integrity of underwriting and claims processes.
  • Pursue ongoing personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage additional job-related projects or assignments as delegated.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance or a related business discipline.
  • Technological proficiency.
  • Previous experience in a leadership capacity.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role.
  • Possession of an Indiana Property & Casualty Producer License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced insurance designations such as CPCU or CIC.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to demonstrate manual dexterity and sufficient range of motion for keyboard and telephone use, along with the ability to communicate effectively in person and via phone.
