Job Overview

Position: Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role under the supervision of the Controller, focusing on the preparation and presentation of financial statements that adhere to accounting principles and regulatory standards. This position also oversees Cost Accounting, General Accounting, sales tax, corporate tax, and contributes to budgeting and forecasting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and reports in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including variance analysis to elucidate discrepancies.
  • Coordinate external audits, providing necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Support year-end tax provision with relevant data.
  • Conduct month-end closing activities, including journal entries, inventory reconciliations, and account reconciliations, ensuring timely and precise completion.
  • Compile monthly reporting packages for management regarding manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze variances between actual and standard costs, updating standard rates as required.
  • Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Provide financial analysis and cost modeling to the manufacturing operations team.
  • Oversee the cycle count program, ensuring compliance and reconciliation of variances.
  • Manage full-cycle fixed asset accounting.
  • Handle all accruals, reclassifications, and necessary entries for closing.
  • Review and prepare account reconciliations with appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure accurate recording of tax liabilities.
  • Verify that payroll is correctly posted to the General Ledger.
  • Ensure timely sales tax filings.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates.
  • Prepare additional managerial reports as needed.
  • Troubleshoot Made to Manage (M2M) issues as necessary.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance the closing process.
  • Assist with special projects and prepare ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Participate in the 401k audit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise and proficient computer skills.
  • CPA designation with experience in Big 4 Public Accounting is preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in managing and leading a Finance department.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Made To Manage (M2M) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite applications.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights is an advantage.
