Position Overview: Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in investigating, analyzing, and resolving quality issues, both internal and external, while identifying opportunities for process enhancement. This role is also responsible for maintaining the Corrective and Preventive Action System to address nonconforming products. The Quality Engineer conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and the effectiveness of past corrective actions.

  • Develops and manages Corrective and Preventive Action responses for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and compliant resolutions that prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Collaborates with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering teams to effectively address quality challenges using corrective action processes and established continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Facilitates cross-functional meetings to tackle systemic issues through structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Utilizes data analysis to identify and resolve issues, focusing on prevention and reducing variance.
  • Creates sampling plans, quality standards, go/no-go boards, and process control instructions to monitor and minimize variation in manufacturing.
  • Educates employees on problem-solving techniques and mentors team members in the effective application of quality tools.
  • Conducts internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and assists in maintaining the internal audit schedule.
  • Oversees the review and management of documented information, including work instructions and forms.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience specifically as a Quality Engineer is preferred.
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer is preferred.
  • Certification as an ISO 9001 internal auditor is preferred.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning processes is preferred.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and statistical software.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret job orders and blueprints with specific details and instructions.
  • Capability to work independently without ongoing support.
