About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Development Engineer to join our Building Service team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and enhancement of our service products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of new service products from concept through production, utilizing Bills of Material, DFMEAs, and other engineering tools.
  • Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate product performance, reliability, and safety, analyzing test data and iterating designs as necessary.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints, coordinating with cross-functional teams including marketing, project managers, and engineering teams around the globe.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design reviews, test plans, and installation guides.
  • Identify opportunities for product and process improvements, implementing changes to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies, staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide technical support to customers and field service teams, addressing and resolving product-related issues and inquiries.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in product development, preferably within the HVAC or building services industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), simulation-based testing, and other engineering tools, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems and components.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion, with experience with project management software a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
What We Offer

We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits and programs, including a base pay range of $94,950 - $148,500, based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, experience, and geographic location where the work is performed.
