Job Title: Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at ISG. As a key member of our Transportation Business Unit, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing data on roadway/transportation engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design, and analyze data on roadway/transportation engineering projects.
  • Prepare studies with associated drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare construction drawings.
  • Prepare specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and report findings to supervisory engineers and/or project managers.
  • Assist project managers and more experienced engineers in ensuring project/task schedules and budgets are met.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation.
  • Responsible for progressing knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars; reviewing professional publications; and attending in-house training courses.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in Autodesk AutoCAD software is preferred. Experience in other Autodesk products is acceptable.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to present complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team to meet project schedules and deadlines.
