**Residential Services Supervisor** -
This role encompasses oversight for multiple residential facilities during the night shift.

The Night Shift Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the management and coordination of residential care services across designated homes during nighttime hours.

Key Responsibilities:
Providing individualized care; supervising staff; coordinating training sessions; maintaining a safe living environment; overseeing operational tasks; monitoring program effectiveness; and fostering relationships with support services. The Night Shift Supervisor holds authority over all Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff within the assigned residences. Additionally, this role involves responding to unusual incidents and conducting special investigations as required. The supervisor will also manage staff coverage and engage in direct care activities as necessary. Flexible hours and shifts are essential to ensure optimal unit operations. The Night Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Unit Director and must achieve certification in Safe Use of Restraint (SUR) and CPR within the first year of employment.

This position may involve driving a state-owned vehicle.

Essential Job Functions:

Regular attendance is expected, with potential requirements for specific shift schedules, rotating shifts, extended hours, and/or overtime in accordance with agency policies. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

May be required to serve in an on-call capacity on a rotating basis to meet the operational needs of the facility.
Ensures a high standard of residential care services.
Maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Responsible for timely reporting of unusual incidents, including fires, abuse, serious injuries, and missing persons.

Ensures that operational tasks are completed effectively within assigned areas to support service delivery.
Supervises home staff to optimize resource utilization.
Ensures that all necessary documentation for individuals is completed in accordance with facility standards.
Facilitates communication between night shift employees and unit management, as well as with other shifts and service areas.

Promotes active participation of individuals in programs and activities to enhance skill development and independence.

Ensures that staff complete physical and nutritional management program requirements.
Assists in the transportation of individuals for scheduled activities and in emergencies, as needed.

Additional responsibilities may include participation in disaster response and recovery efforts or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation, which may necessitate alternate shift assignments and/or locations.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Physical Management Programming, Behavior Therapy training, and Safe Use of Restraint (SUR) techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to organize supervisory tasks, motivate, and direct DSP staff.
  • Ability to collaborate harmoniously with colleagues.
  • Good judgment in handling unusual incidents.
  • Familiarity with Positive Performance Program and facility operational policies.
  • Skill in training staff in relevant job-related areas.
  • General knowledge of ICF/IID standards.
  • Physical capability to perform direct care duties and conduct regular rounds across extensive areas.
  • Physical ability to execute Safe Use of Restraint (SUR) and CPR.
