Job Summary

As a Cytologist at LifeBridge Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with the mission statement and SPIRIT values of our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and screen all cytologic specimens, assist on fine needle procedures, and interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist, as described in the regulatory standards.

You will be expected to follow laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements, including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and CLIA. Additionally, you will determine that test results meet the requirements of the quality control program and repeat tests as necessary to ensure results are approved for reporting, maintaining all necessary records and documentation.

Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Cytology, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in a related field
  • Cytologist - Board Registered or specialist in Cytology by recognized credentialing board
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and screen all cytologic specimens
  • Assist on fine needle procedures
  • Interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist
  • Follow laboratory policies and procedures
  • Determine test results meet quality control program requirements
