Role Responsibilities:

The Merchant Engagement Manager (MEM) will be part of the expanding Merchant Success team, dedicated to understanding the distinct strategic requirements of each merchant and delivering significant value to foster their growth and achievement.

The MEM will cultivate and maintain strong partnerships through various communication channels, including regular proactive health assessments, strategic quarterly business evaluations, and ongoing correspondence to ensure a positive business outcome.


Key Duties:
Consultation:
Identifying Merchant Objectives and Aspirations. Upon account assignment, discover what “success” signifies for a Merchant.
Continuously reassess success metrics, requirements, and aspirations of Merchants.

Solutions:
Facilitating Merchant Development and Achievement.

Based on Merchant requirements and success metrics, create dynamic action plans that include deliverables from Midwest Startups and recommendations for Merchants to drive their success.


Adoption:
Encourage Merchant Utilization of Key Features.

Align Merchant goals with Midwest Startups capabilities to promote the use and adoption of essential functions and features within our offerings.


Risk Management:
Proactively Address Issues.

Monitor merchant health closely and take swift, decisive actions to correct course when necessary.


Collaboration:
Engage Key Stakeholders and Teams.

Work in tandem with the Customer Support team to deliver an exceptional Merchant experience. Influence the product and service roadmap to enhance impact for Merchant partners.


Performance:
Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Merchant Advocacy:
Foster Merchant loyalty by providing an outstanding experience.

Retention:
Contribute to the growth of Midwest Startups through high Merchant retention rates.

Upselling:
Facilitate mutual success for Merchants and Midwest Startups through the adoption of new, critical features and services.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and merchant services within the technology sector.
Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
Strong perceptive skills in assessing merchant needs and delivering solutions.
Demonstrated proficiency in effective communication across various mediums.
Experience in cross-departmental collaboration to provide comprehensive solutions for merchants.
Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.

Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Manager of Merchant Success.
