Job Title: Strategic Account Executive

Your role as a Strategic Account Executive at the Houston Chronicle will be to drive and grow new business with advertisers, as well as expand digital revenue opportunities with a select group of current clients. You will be responsible for managing business relationships to ensure that clients' needs and requirements are met.

This is a fast-paced, client-facing role that requires the ability to handle multiple clients and opportunities on a daily basis. You should have strong sales experience across a variety of digital media products, as well as experience in emerging media. Familiarity with the latest advertising and product trends is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for achieving digital sales quotas, including correct forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Prospect and sell targeted accounts within a given area of responsibility.
  • Expand existing digital customer base to generate digital revenue.
  • Review customer needs analysis to determine the best mix of digital products.
  • Meet with key clients, present, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Account manage clients once they have been onboarded.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital advertising sales.
  • Proven track record demonstrating ability to develop new business in excess of $1MM annually.
  • Must understand an array of digital services, including Social Media, Connected TV, Audio, Programmatic, and Content marketing.
  • Client and Agency account relationships a plus.
  • Understand the mix between all digital channels and how they complement each other.
  • Superior presentation, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Passion for new and emerging media.
  • Highly collaborative leader and a team player, both within the company and with clients.
Education Requirements:
  • Four Year College Degree.
  • Additional digital certifications a plus, such as IAB, Google Adwords, Facebook/IG, etc.
