Job Overview:

As a Reliability/Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the production of Teledyne FLIR's Cooled and Uncooled Camera Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in product development as a key team member for Teledyne FLIR's camera systems.
- Oversee product and process qualification planning, testing, and reporting for new designs and methodologies.
- Manage reliability metrics and reporting for fielded products.
- Facilitate the qualification of suppliers and components.
- Coordinate corrective actions for non-conforming materials.
- Serve as the primary Quality and Reliability liaison with suppliers and clients.
- Lead regular quality improvement initiatives and status updates.
- Conduct Failure/Trend Analysis and employ Analytical Problem Solving to recommend and implement corrective measures.
- Develop quality procedures and work instructions as necessary.
- Travel as needed to engage with suppliers, customers, and external laboratories.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Systems Engineering, Customer Service, Production, Process/Manufacturing Engineering, and Executive Leadership.

- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills are essential for building effective relationships within product teams and across departments.


- Excellent communication skills are crucial for drafting proposals and conveying information clearly and understandably.

Listening attentively and avoiding distractions is vital.

- Demonstrating strong personal initiative and motivation is key to achieving project goals that align with organizational objectives.


- Proficient oral communication and presentation skills are necessary for engaging audiences and delivering clear messages.


Essential Functions:
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Proficient communication skills in both oral and written English.

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Reliability or Process/Manufacturing Engineer, preferably in the electromechanical sector.
- Six Sigma training and/or certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
- Familiarity with IR or similar technologies.
- Understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9001:2015.
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies and failure analysis tools.
- Experience with statistical process control and measurement system analysis (Gauge R&R).
- Skills in supplier quality development and optical/mechanical inspection.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical shaker systems and environmental testing chambers.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with statistical and reliability software applications.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for export control licenses as necessary.

Salary Range:
$89,100.00-$120,230.00
