Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Aerospace Quality Control Specialist to join our team in Goleta, CA. In this capacity, you will conduct in-process inspections and receiving inspections of aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts receiving inspections of purchased components and subassemblies, ensuring supplier adherence to all purchase order specifications and requirements.
  • Executes dimensional inspections utilizing hand-held tools to measure components and assemblies against drawing specifications.
  • Performs in-process inspections of assembled hardware according to drawing specifications, ensuring accuracy in data sheets, work orders, adhesive mixtures, and other documentation systems.
  • Conducts final inspections of assembled hardware in accordance with drawing specifications and serves as the point of contact for the program Quality Engineer (reporting quality issues or findings to the QE). Aids Quality Engineering and Operations in investigating non-conformities.
  • Thoroughly documents inspection results.
  • Reviews work orders for quality assurance prior to closure, verifying the count and condition of components or assemblies, confirming the completion of all operations, ensuring accuracy of associated kit lists, and assisting the Quality Engineer (as needed) in collecting data for the assemblies' End Item Data Package.
  • Conducts source inspections at sub-tier suppliers as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Inspection, ideally in a high-reliability, low-volume, high-variety manufacturing setting.
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with the setup and utilization of mechanical inspection tools.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
Desired Skills
  • Understanding of aerospace systems, methodologies, and terminology.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 standards.
  • Experience with documenting product quality through both paper and electronic systems, including Word, Excel, and web-based platforms.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with calibration systems and internal controls related to calibration.
  • Occasional work in confined spaces.
  • Occasional work at heights of 30 ft. or more using a scissor lift.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Occasional travel up to 5-10% for project testing.

Compensation

$33.00 per hour
