JOB SUMMARY
As a Lead Robotics Systems Engineer, you will take charge of the design, development, and implementation of robotic control systems for medical applications within a dynamic C++, Windows, Python environment. Your role will be crucial in evaluating user requirements to boost the effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability of software applications. Furthermore, you will identify and leverage technologies to fulfill business objectives and enhance team productivity, while also acting as a mentor to software and robotics team members throughout the product development process.
SALARY AND COMPENSATION
In this position, the salary range is established between $130,000 and $170,000, influenced by various factors including training, skills, experience, education, business requirements, and market conditions. Additional benefits such as bonuses, equity, and company perks may also be applicable. Please note that the salary range mentioned is an approximation and may undergo revisions in the future.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Creating well-structured and testable code
- Leading research and development initiatives to improve robotic arm subsystems and control system algorithms
- Overseeing the entire application development life-cycle
- Contributing to product planning and proposing innovative solutions
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive software documentation
- Assisting in the establishment of software validation and quality assurance procedures
- Staying informed on the latest development tools, programming techniques, and robotic technologies
- Enhancing operations through systems analysis and recommending process improvements
- Engaging in robotic-related patent research and collaborating with AI/ML and computer vision teams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Typically, a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Control Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from a reputable institution is required, with the possibility of an M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field. A minimum of eight to twelve years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training is essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands of the role include sitting for extended periods, manual dexterity, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and frequent handling of up to 20 pounds. Specific visual abilities are necessary, including color, distance, and close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
